Dave Samuelson P.E.

Mr. David Samuelson recently retired in July 2021 following a 39-year career as a Structural Research Engineer with Nucor Group Technical Services.  Mr. Samuelson holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln and Master of Science degree from the University of Colorado-Boulder. Mr. Samuelson is a Registered Professional Engineer in Colorado.

Mr. Samuelson coordinated research testing projects for Vulcraft / Verco Group evaluating the performance of composite shortspan joists, composite longspan joists, composite joist girders, and vibration of steel joist supported floor systems.    Mr. Samuelson is a former member of the AISC TC5 Committee on Composite Construction, former Chairman of the Steel Joist Institute’s Research Committee, and  former chairman of SJI’s Composite Joist sub-committee.
